Hi

I do have new pins but stories say not worth the effort and fit new hinges (i have made a tool to help with drifting the pins out so i can clout them hard or press)

Any thoughts and are the aftermarket hinges any good i.e align etc etc

regards

David

Hi Dave

easy enough to repair your hinges.

The new pins are 0.004" oversize so you can run a drill down the holes to clean them up.

when knocking the pins out have a good look to see if they go in and out in one direction.

When I had mine apart I drilled a hole to allow a grease nipple to be fitted and annual greasing. The nipple caqn be removed when in use.

I fitted it to the central lug.

Find on Pages 8 & 9     23 rd July 2022 onwards into August

Note the machined cut out to let the nipple pass the hinge leaf.
