marki
Hi All. I’m converting a 6 from PI to SU’s was looking at what distributor drive I’d need as the original obviously drives the metering unit ? cheers Mark
Waldi
Hi Mark, the non-PI pedestal and drive shaft are different. I would buy a SH set of that, they are available rather cheap, and keep the PI-pedestal and shaft. The distributor does fit on both. Waldi
marki
Hi Waldi Not sure what you mean by keep the pedestal and shaft from the pi ? mark

marki
Ah yes, was going to keep it, am I right in thinking I’ll need a distributor pedestal a drive shaft off a 2000 ? cheers Mark

As far as I know the shafts are the same. Remember to shimthe new pedestal with paper gaskets to preserve the distributor dive shaft end float. Then pop the original distributor back on, set the timing and that should be the job done. Nigel
Andy Moltu
The PI pedestal is longer and the drive gear has a the gear to drive the metering unit. One from a 2000/2.5 saloon will do.

Dave McDonald
Mark, Try Chris Witor, he’s in your area. Otherwise TRBitz or TRGB. Should be plenty of them about. Dave McD
