Mikalor exhaust clips

Recommended Posts

Just changed the Propshaft on my 5 which has a standard stainless steel exhaust. Thought that I would replace the standard U-bolt/clamps with Mikalor clips. But can these be fitted on the joint onto the silencer box which also doubles as a mounting to the mounting strap ? If so how? Or do I have to use u-bolts again?
Many thanks,

Tim

Hi Tim

I tried SS Mikalor clips and failed in that location ok elsewhere.

In the end I went back to the U clamps from Moss as the U clamps on e bay etc were not the right shape to allow them to be bolted to the hanger bracket.

Others might have a solution but I admitted defeat.

Thanks Andy. I must admit that I can’t see an obvious solution, but you never know who has done what on here!

Hi Tim, I used both. Just been out in the garage and taken a photo.

Many thanks for all suggestions. Better go and sort a bracket I think.

If you require Bracket Inspiration, watch the Binky Project on Bad Obsesssion:

The best idea from Bracket Guru Nik, is CAD!   That's Cardboard Aided Design - make it in card, then cut out in metal.

Good luck!

The better „Mikalor“ clamps (ripped off before tight) are German „PaRi“.

If you got one in your hands you know this is the quality you want.

I use a PaRi clamp and selfmade hanger on my push wheel TR4A exhaust.

Ciao, Marco
