Bean can? LUXURY! You were lucky! I remember my old Dad repairing the bottom of the door on his old Escort van with a piece of rolled up newspaper and resin glue…aye! Ian Vincent
I hate to admit to repairing corroded box sections under my 1964 Alfa Romeo Spider with glass fibre and then injected closed cell PU foam into the cavity to try and give it a bit of strength. Oh and covering everything with a coat of underseal so that it got through its MoT. I also manufactured glass fibre sills to replace the rotted out metal ones and filled the aperture behind with PU foam. It was all still there when I eventually sold the car.
