Devs
I'm trying to track down some older TR2 / 3 front springs which are just under 10" in length, so would usually be used be with the aluminium packing piece. All available springs seem to be 11" in length these days, so omitting the packing piece. Does anyone have an older set they would like to part with? Thanks!
John Morrison
Were the 9 & 3/4 fronts not teh competition rated ones? John.
BlueTR3A-5EKT
Page 257 here gives the original TR2-3B specification for standard and competition that should be fitted with the aluminium packing piece. http://tr4a.weebly.com/uploads/2/1/9/8/21980360/triumph_tr2_tr3_tr3a_factory_service_manual_part3.pdf I found the TR4 longer spring without packing piece worked nicely on a sidescreen TR. Spring pt no 210903. Poor screen shot image below of service manual spec. Edited November 29, 2021 by BlueTR3A-5EKT
AJ2014
Hi Devs, I had a brand new pair of front springs made for my TR2 (to original spec) by a spring manufacturing company in Rotherham. Proper old school place with all the old school machines etc. I visited them and spoke to the owner too, lovely guy and very helpful. The springs were first class with a spotless powdercoated finish. They have all the spec sheets for any car spring, on paper in original folders. Half the listed price of the usual suppliers. Contact Tony at South Yorkshire Springs (Rotherham) 01709 375375. I am not connected with this company, just a happy customer. Cheers Ade Edited November 30, 2021 by AJ2014 Add pics
