gloide69
Hi I'm still doing lots of repairs to the body on my TR4, and now have it on its side to finish welding in the floors etc. Whilst working on the tunnel / heel board, I have a little extra metal on one side, see picture, is it a fastening feature for something? Ransomes256
I think you will find this is the fixing where the spring attaches to keep the handbrake cable corectly located. See part 31 in manual / moss catalogue. Stay Safe. Neil

gloide69
Thank You, I very nearly tidied this away with the grinder. Is the bump stop rare, or just that its not a listed part? Cheers Paul
Ransomes256
Fitted on my 1962 TR4 so do not think that rare but not listed in parts books. Neil
ianc
According to Stuart, Neil Revington and Tony Sheach, bump stop was fitted to all TR4s - we had a Topic on this very subject here just a few months ago. My early 1962 TR4 has one. Ian Cornish Edited September 2, 2020 by ianc

Quicksilver
@ Stuart, thanks for that, next time when i am under the car, i change the iron-wire for a short spring .... and maybe i clean the underside to.... Marcel.
ianc
Marcel - clean the underside and corrosion will commence! TRs have automatic system for self-preservation - it's call oil leakage. Ian Cornish
Quicksilver
@ Ian It is a maybe... i think you are right it is corrosion protection. and when i park the TR somewhere, when we leave then there is a' little spot mark' on the tarmac that says " I was here"!.....
