Spain & Portugal Trip

Recommended Posts

Hello All

Well here we go again off on another Adventure to Spain & Portugal (what could possibly go wrong?)

Here is a map of the general route we be taking its about 1500 miles over there plus 320 miles in UK so about 1800miles in all

We set out tomorrow morning early(4am!!!!) to catch the 8.45 am ferry at Portsmouth to Bilbao.

We are loosely calling it Castles and Walled towns (we hope?)

So at the moment we are rushing around like headless chickens(but at least I have not got the radiator out this time to fix the oil leak!)

We will keep you updated and post photos to encourage others to do it

Hello All
Here is a small update on our Spain & Portugal Tour

We arrived at Bilbao and had a look at the transporter bridge but could not walk over the top as it was closed for repairs!
We stayed 1st night just outside Bilbao.
We then travelled to Medina De Compo 2nd night
Then onto Almmedia 3rd night
Then to Galisteo 4th night
Then to Marvao were we had a room with views to die for 5th night
Now we are at Leiria 6th & 7th nights
We have covered 950 miles from home and averaged 42mpg and used 350cc oil
The weather has been fine and warm just a bit windy at times(but way better than you are having?)
Here are a few photos of the trip

Hello All

We had been on our usual walk about(pub crawl)last night

We had had some nice rose wine and tapas but the icing on the cake was passing the volunteer fire station(seen earlier)

Then being cheeky and saying can I take photos of the old fire engine!

Well it just got better they were all over us like a rash and the next thing we knew they had got the 1921 Packard fire engine running all be it a bit rough

We did not push our luck and ask for a drive! but we did ring the bell!

Its been a non driving day today(off to Guimaraes tomorrow)
