Chris Glasbey
My modified TR3A has a "stag type" gearbox + uprated overdrive. Power at wheels is about 155bhp. I drive the car hard and often up to the redline through gears. Previous gearbox rebuild (Racetorations) lasted 15 years, which included 8 years of Hillclimbing. Back to present ...and via Robsport the gearbox and overdrive have been rebuilt by one of the experts ... and working great over the last 6 month, until now. Accelerating hard in top gear .....overdrive should thump in (uprated) but now it doesn't. It will only engage if driving slower and not under load. Also, it sometimes jumps out of o/d. I am taking the car back for checking. Any thoughts ? Chris.
stillp
Inhibitor switches need adjusting? Does it behave the same in all gears? Can you hear if the solenoid is dropping out? Pete

iain
Low on Oil or low on pressure. Have you check the Operating pressure? Iain
Chris Glasbey
Thank you for your comments. No sign of oil loss although will check. I hope that pressure test will reveal the problem ! As for hearing anything ....no chance, exhaust is loud. Chris.
Hamish
Green with envy with that power at the wheels. Delivered my box to mr cox today. 1st time meeting - a proper Aladdins cave of parts and knowledge. After I carried out a 1 man 3 hour diy removal yesterday afternoon. Who was your expert ? Did robsport remove and fit the box? As often the boxes are returned empty - to be filled by the installer. Is this the case ? H
Chris Glasbey
Hamish ...............one man, 3 hours ....amazing !! Pete Cox IS the King TR gearbox rebuilder .....much respect for him. My box went to another recognised company .....best if I comment positively after the problem has been sorted (October). Chris.
