tr6 instruments

hello all,not much of a contributor but i drop by nearly every day to read what everybody else has to say and now i have a question if you please, i need to get my instruments refurbed or replaced does anyone know where i might get this done please.

They did an excellent job not speedy though- got them back after 6 months after chasing them up several times- I guess they were too busy but worth it in the end.

Its a relatively simple and very rewarding activity to repaint, replace the seals, maybe add led bulbs?

You could try these guys - they have a lot of original Smiths tooling and are expanding their range all the time, but not sure if they do TR6 bits yet

I chose Speedy Cables because they bought all the original Smith's tooling and plans and if I remember they were in the original Smith's factory when they first started so as close to being original as you can get.

Avoid The Gauge Shop. I telephoned and agreed a rapid turnaround, sent gauge off. Three weeks later rang to check and gauge had arrived and would start on it that day.

 

One month later nothing, no answer to emails. Eighteen months later still nothing. Then I looked on the internet for other reviews, sadly I was not alone, lots of people with bad experiences of this man.
