TR4A1965
The AC Delco Fuel pump on my TR4A weeps but not as much as me on this issue. I rebuilt the original and it weeped. I bought a replacement new one, it weeped I changed gaskets and screwed it down as tight as I might and it weeps. Not a gush, just an annoying sogginess over time. Anyone got a fix other than new gasket (Again) rebuild (Again)? Is there a magic bit of wizardry that alludes me? Thanks in advance. Best Paul.
Icarus60
Paul Have you had a good look at the flatness of the two mating faces? Also suggest that they not screwed too tight or the faces will distort . Regards Rog
RogerH
Hi Paul, if it looks mechanically OK (flat surfaces are flat etc) then perhaps a silicon sealant may help. Apply sparingly. As mentioned do not over tighten. Are you certain it is leaking from the the body joint. Could the input or output pipe connectors be leaking and running around. TR4A1965
Thanks Guys, I'll give Dave a shout. After rebuilding the TR4A I have been driving it quite a bit and 'things' have started to appear. The fail list is getting longer but here are a few of them below. So whilst I am sorting this lot I'll pack my pump off to Dave:-) Best. Paul. Nylon bush on steering column failed (wear seams to have made it loose) Wiper box failed (Needs investigation) Choke cable failed (Brand new and it just separated) Heater tap cable failed (New knob not seating and loose) Seat backs failed (Will make wooden ones as opposed to hardboard ones supplied) Exhaust silencer keeps popping off from 'Y' pipe. (And I keep putting it back)
