marki
Hi All. Does anyone or has anyone ran Iridium plugs ? Mark.
Dave McDonald
Yes. I run NGK BPR7E1X Iridium plugs, but only in my TR6 race car. No way of knowing if there is any improvement over standard plugs. Run them because my engine builder recommended them. Very expensive but they have never let me down but they only have limited mileage in a race car. Dave McD
cp25616
I have tried Iridium plugs in my TR6 and found that I preferred the standard NGK BPR6ES plugs instead. They were taken out after only 2 months, not impressed for the money anyway. Alan G
TR5tar
I run them in my 5. Seem good to me, but could well be "psychological". Think I got mine via Euro Car Parts for a reasonable price, but obviously still more costly than standard plugs. Darren
Peter Cobbold
I shall be using them to improve ignition of lean mixtures, and to keep the sparks flying under boost with water droplets flying around too. Decision based upon upon Heywood's textbook data. mike3739
Have used them for a couple of years now & I noticed a positive difference Cheers Mike
astontr6
I have used them for 2 years there was a definate improvement but I was advised by a friend in the US that to get the best out of them. They have to be used with a high energy ignition system, I am using a Pertronix Ingitor 2 system with their very low resistance 45kv coil. (Not certain that this system is available in the UK) The main thing that I noticed was more instant start up and the plugs stay cleaner. I have yet to clean the plugs. But some of this could also be down to the ignition system as well. Bruce.
