stuart
Long piece of 4"X1" to lever the deck up a bit usually works. Stuart.
ts1144
I kept the Rubber sleeve to a minimum, just enough to join the two together. Chris
Lebro
I remember struggling with mine for quite some time. I think in the end I shortened the rubber pipe, & I may have also shortened the pipe part of the filler. Put the rubber pipe fully on which ever is the longest "solid pipe", & tighten up the clamp, put the other clamp loosely on the rubber pipe, then try to insert the tank, & guide the rubber onto the other "solid pipe" as you go. McMuttley
excellent advice gents, a combo of all three worked, although i lacked the bravery of stu as i feared all that bondo cracking ! Feels nice to be putting things back in rather than taking ore and more bits off ! Hoping to get the extractor back from cam coat mid week, but suspect that installing that plus the exhaust, setting up carbs etc will not happen in time for drive it day
Mart O
Bodywork looks nice too. Your boot lid seal is on the opposite way round to mine. I have the join at the bottom centre. Do you know if yours is the correct way? Martin
McMuttley
Hi Martin, The twatty dealer who sold me the car did the seal, so like everything else, i suspect it is wrong, luckily it isnt glued in either !
iain
Good work Austin it's a B.... Of a job.
Mart O
Austin, mine isn't glued either, I think that's normal?!
james christie
Keep the seal join at the top - it's a good gesture to try and stop the rain going into the boot. Gluing it keeps it all in place. James
bcthom
On a TR6 there is a lot of suction at the rear of the car and putting the boot seal join at the front edge reduces the amount of exhaust smell in the boot. Maybe works the same in a sidescreen though I haven't noticed. Bryan
