I did away with the rear silencer but will experiment with fitting the 'short' silencer instead of the 'long' one in the middle to see what difference it makes sound wise. Tom. Lebro Posted February 16, 2016 Report Share Posted February 16, 2016 We fitted the TR shop "big bore" system to a friends TR3A last year, it consisted of only one silencer, & bore size was actually the same as the standard system (above) except for the shiny tailpipe, which was a bit bigger. The outside dia of my "standard" TR shopsystem (probably made by Phoenix) is 47.5mm or 1.868" I started off with the whole system connected to the original cast iron exhaust manifold, but it is now connected to the Phoenix 4 branch via a "link pipe".
