McMuttley
Without naming businesses - as I think that would be commercially unfair, what are people's experiences of the going labour rates for classic specialist restoration / repair in London / SE..... no rare skills required, just basic bodywork patching up, welding, re-tuning, fitting etc. I have circa 50-80 hours of work subject to whether we expand from the 'must-do' list into the 'wish-list' £50 p/h rather than £70 p/h could, for example, save me £1,000 - £1,500 plus VAT Thoughts ? keith w
I have had a complete shell fettle and paint at a small company on the Thruxton Indusdtrial Estate near Andover Hants. Using it as a long term 'filler in' in between other jobs we agreed an hourly rate of £30 per hour. It took two years though, but I wasn't in a hurry and it was an A1 job. It's worth a phone call , ask for Roger at Border Coachworks, 01264 772422.
pfenlon
My wife went into labour on two occasions and in the North. Christ it was expensive, and I don't think I have ever stopped paying.

MikeF
In North Oxfordshire I pay £40 per hour plus Vat. But I only get charged on what it should have cost not what it actually took. This "fair play" approach is very common amongst all the local trades people round here
