Crawfie
I've managed (don't know how!!) to split one of the rear PVC side windows on my soft top. The roof is black mohair and the side windows seem to be heat welded in place. My question is.....can I get the window panel replaced and if so does any one know of anyone who could do the work in sunny Devon ? The rest of the soft top is in excellent condition and I don't want the expense of putting a new roof on yet. Had the TR6 for a few months now , been on a few trips and loving every minute???? RobinTR6
Yes the panel is replaceable by a decent upholsterer. You can buy the clear plastic on ebay and stick a piece over the tear as a temp fix. Sorry dont know anyone in your neck of the woods
PILKIE
Depending where you are, look for a local marine sailmaker trimmer! They are used to making deck canopies etc! And hopefully using good quality products that wont fade or rot!
Steves_TR6
As Pilkie says Crawfie, try one of the big marinas eg Brixam or Plymouth, you'll find they have a leaflet/advert board that is sure to include a marine canvas firm. steve
RonA
I tried 2 local marinas with my last mohair hood when the main window panel split across the bottom, they could do the job but it wasn't financially viable as they seem to think that all their customers have the same income as those with fancy big yachts! Either that or they weren't interested in small jobs and tried to put me off with a high price. RonA Edited April 4, 2014 by RonA
Crawfie
Thanks for the advice gents !! Contacted a local sail maker/repairer today. Can book it in and have it fixed while u wait or leave it with them for a few days. I going to have both side windows replaced. They've done a few soft tops but never done a TR6 before. Quite happy for the business. Price @£40 . Not sure if that's for one panel or two, either way it's cheaper than a new roof. Ullman Sails Plymouth 01752 337131. I'm going to get the roof fixed next week. I'll let you know how I get on etc. Again.....thanks for the advice.
RonA
That's great, I was quoted £100 + VAT for one window! RonA

Say to them its cash of course!! Some are happy to do a cash deal for beer money!
Crawfie
Got my soft top back from Ullman sails in Plymouth. They've done a fantastic job and both side panels cost £50 to replace.
