Hi Billy

I have looked into using Led bulbs in the dash gauges, trying various different types.

A waste of time and effort , the beam spread was not enough.

Instead i followed this site

If your illumination is to dim, you could dispense with the Rhestat and connect the wires together.

Or simply fit new standard bulbs, suprising what a difference that can make.

There are also a good few threads or posts on the subject for your interest

I can supply information on my dash board lamps conversion to LEDs, which was very successful. (So much so that I had to build an LED dimmer unit to use with it).

It is easier to email me and I will send the information back to you. You can send an email to me by clicking on the link in my signature panel below.

There are many different types of LED bulbs.

Can you advise on type and refernce number/supplier ?

Cheers

Hi Guy,

I use various suppliers

For direct replacements, www.ultraleds.co.uk

For LED strips www.rapidonline.co.uk

or maplin www.maplin.co.uk

There are loads of suppliers offering all sorts of deals and options, but in my experience, quality is variable from all suppliers. Sometimes you get a good batch that last seemingly forever, with others, the build quality is so poor that they are of no use whatever, though more recently the quality seems to be improving.

Good luck
