John Harvey
Time for an oil change but I am a bit confused as to the best oil to use. The brown book says 20/50 I went on the Halfords web site put in the make and model it came up with TR6 OHV 12V INJ 1969-1975 and recommended Halfords 15/40 suitable for most non fuel injected cars. Castrol GTX 15/40 and Castrol magnatec 10/40. Not much help there then so I wondered what oil most of you guys use advice would be appreciated.
Edwin
Hi, Don't use just any 20/50 oil. Make sure there is enough ZDDP in it. I use Penrite Classic Light in mine. Cheers, Edwin
RogerH
Hi John, Halfords 20/50 classic is good and has just enough ZDDP. Roger

Alec Pringle
If I was looking for advice in respect of a classic car, or just about any car come to that, Halfrauds wouldn't exactly be my first port of call. Just my opinion based on past experience. Cheers, Alec
fox889
Millers do a 'classic' 20/50 oil...........available from all good outlets!
JJohn
Penrite Classic Light. It's a 20W/60, designed for engines which run with a high oil temperature. This apparently applies to the 6 cylinder TR engine. I've used it in my 6 for the last 10 years. Jim
grahama
I'm using Miller semi-synthetic 20/50. I find it holds pressure up better when engine is fully up to temp than a mineral 20/50.
