randall977
Should the deeper bit be on the inside or the outside (original h profile only)?
Ade-TR4
Inside. (I think ) Ade
RogerH
Hi Christian, looking at the rear horizontal flange (where the boot lock catch is fitted) the thicker section is upper most (inside). Roger
stuart
If I was you I wouldnt bother with an original type (Especially not if its repro) they dont grip the lip and roll off at the bottom. Better off with either Woolies 01778347347 part number 268 or 268a depending on the clearance. Far better seal. Stuart
randall977
The TR6 type doesn't allow the lid to shut down properly on my car. I have the original and it's perfect (as it's squashy) but a bit tired. I've bought an original type of eBay (£20) and have to say that it's really good. Easy to fit and it does stick to the lip... TR 2100
If I was you I wouldnt bother with an original type (Especially not if its repro) they dont grip the lip and roll off at the bottom. If you are lucky, you may just get a 'squishy' one (they squash and seal better), but it's unpredictable. I'm told most repros are too hard and make the boot lid difficult, if not impossible, to close. The originals were glued in place - that should help, but if it doesn't roll off a bit at the bottom, it's not original!!! AlanR Edited July 1, 2010 by TR 2100
stuart
Thats why I use the one recommended above and Christian its nothing like the TR6 type. Stuart.

randall977
Okay I surpose I should admit to using knife on my new trim...but only because I have a slight aligment problem!
stuart
Photos of Woolies boot seal part number 268, 268a is slightly smaller in the top bead if you have less clearance between the lip and the lid. Stuart.
randall977
I wish the underside of my bootlid looked as good as yours!

stuart
Thanks for the photos Stuart, Ordered a woolies catalogue. Cheers Adey Adey if you ask they will send you sample lengths of the 2 sizes and then you can decide which one to use depending on the clearance you have between lid and lip. Stuart.
