ashtons99
Im considering viewing the newly advertised Mimosa L reg car they have. Does anyone have any knowledge of the car or the dealer. I think the guy who runs it is 'Marko' who is a suscriber on here so hopefully will be a cut above most I live a good distance away so dont want a wasted journey if it can be avoided Edited December 7, 2007 by ashtons99

Richard Crawley
Stokeferry which is near downham I seem to recall I know exactly where it is; a small, rural garage just up the road from my sister & almost next door to a mutual friend. I’ve seen the odd TR on the forecourt over the last couple of years which has forced me to stop & have a look in the past but nobody ever appeared to harass me so I really don’t know anything about the proprietor. Unfortunately it’s 40 mins. drive from me so it’s not really down the road & the best I can offer is to have a look next time I visit my sister which is on the 20th December. ianhoward
Indeed, the proprietor is 'Marko' who contributes to this very forum - he will no doubt be adding to this post in due course! I believe he endeavours to 'stock' TRs in an 'above average' condition, so would expect that the one you mention should certainly be worth a better look if you are serious! Certainly the ones he has had when I have loked at his website have looked very respectable! Regards
stuart
As a good friend of Mark I would highly recommend any car that he has for sale. He isnt keen on having anything to do with a car that is less than 100% and if you ring him for a description of any car that he has for sale it will be a complete and honest description. Stuart. marko
I could have some fun with this posting......but I'll stick to the facts: 1. I'm a fussy bugger! (Stuart will confirm this!) 2. I try not to get involved with welded bodged cars unless they are cheap and I can sell them to experinced people as restoration projects! 3. Our reputation is growing (I hope) and I want to keep it that way, I'm not into ripping people off for huge profits - we are both (my business partner and I) TR enthusiasts....(I love them - especially TR5's) 4. Most TR's need tinkering with - don't kid yourself it is a modern car - its' not........ I tend to air on the side of caution and lots of people have commented that I am to critical (yes including the wife!) We have shipped cars to Portugal (President of the TR Owners), Belgium, Denmark and Spain all of which have been bought "blind" - no complaints yet..... Happy for anyone to make comments good or bad...... Regards Mark O http://www.classic-marques.co.uk
stuart
Actually I wouldnt have called you fussy Mark. As you are buiding a reputation on high quality car sales then you are going at it the best way by not getting involved with anything that isnt top notch. It limits the market but at the same time with the high cost of body repairs it means peace of mind for your customers. Stuart. Richard Crawley
I honestly wasnt paid for this advertisment There you go, you can’t get much better endorsements than that! Must admit, I didn’t initially recognise the name & didn’t associate it with the garage forecourt I’d seen in Stoke Ferry but recognised the web page.
BrianC
There does seem to be a growing number of small specialist companies restoring and/or selling TRs, several of whom contribute regularly on the Forum and offer free advice to others. It would be beneficial to both suppliers and customers if these small businesses could be added to the TR Register Recognised Supplier Directory. However, I understand that it is up to the suppliers to initiate the 'registration', although I'm sure this should be little more than a formality in most cases where there is clear positive feedback from customers and other Forum members. Im not sure but I think the recognized supplier directory is no longer in existence. But the Register breakdown directory is due out again soon which can be of help to touring members and probably contains most suppliers/ restorers contacts as well. Stuart. BrianC
Im not sure but I think the recognized supplier directory is no longer in existence. Maybe not maintained as originally intended, but it on the main TR Register site and probably the first place many newcomers will look: TR Supplier Link
