lee
Does anyone know where I can get an bolt kit to cover all the bits that bolt to the engine. Everything excluding the big bits that hold it together? Stainless would be preferable but I just need a kit that has all the right bits in
Waldi
Lee, I suggest to buy a standard UNF kit, that will cover 90% of the bolts used. Longer bolts are normally not included, and special bolts, like on the throttle bodys also not. Namrick (in the UK) sells these kits, but also sells bolts in small quantities. I ordered from them, and added sets of nuts and rings in the most common sizes: 1/4", 5/16", 3/8". There are different kinds of rings, buy the thicker ones. john.r.davies
Lee, Unless you buy very Specialist stainless N&B, they are of inferior strength the high tensile ones usually fitted. SSteel should never be used for 'mission critical' applications, like holding essential parts in place. Air filters, rockser covers, maybe. What's wrong with the ones you have? graeme
Lee, You probably will find shipping prohibitive, but this company in the states do a 6 cyl engine kit. http://www.mmsacc-stainless.com/html/Triumph-MG.htm Cheers Graeme
rog1
I've recently been using up my stock of nuts and bolts on the 6, that I bought from these people, 20 odd years ago when I was restoring a Vitesse. A general kit seemed a cheaper option than a specific kit. http://www.groveco.co.uk/index.html I tend to use Namrick these days, it's easy as I live in the same town. They also have more stock than listed on their website, so might be worth giving them a call. lee
Thank you guys Yes, I've used Namrick before. When I restored my Etype I used Middletons and over ordered on stainless costing me fortunes so this time I was looking for a definitive list of what I needed Existing items are past their best so really need replacing rather than replating
