rvwp
Hi Guys, Should be simple, but any advice re: putting on the TR6 water transfer badges on the rear wings. I assume soak them in water and slide it off and onto the wing? Thanks Rich
Bodiam
Hi, Rich, The ones I bought, from Rimmers, were self-adhesive mounted on a backing sheet. Are you sure yours are water transfer, I've not seen any of those. John
Denis
Originals were PVC Vinyl Cut Out, which were self adhesive ...you just peel part of the backing paper away, line it up and smoothed half down, then peeled the other half away ditto...Remembering to rub over the lettering on the facing paper with a plastic squeegee before peeling away the front paper. JJC
Good job you're asking. I need to know that too! But I think MC has offered to do it.

Fireman049
+1 Neil. Use warm water with a few drops of washing up liquid. Apply some of the water to the body. Thoroughly soak the transfer and when you apply it, it can easily be moved about until you get it right. Use a soft cloth to iron out any air bubbles then leave to dry. Tom. Denis
Andrew's original 'Saffron' car should provide you/us all with the correct actual distance from the side indicator, you see all sorts of variations at classic car shows!
rvwp
Strange? Checked with Rimmers who say the badge they sell are water transfer type. Did not seem to have any recollection of selling stick on ones. The Moss ones are definetely water transfers which I have. So will have a go as comments above re fitting same. Thanks Rich
Blue cedar
Peel it back and see if it is sticky . The ones I bought from Moss were sticky.....so I lined them up on the panel and carefully peeled the backing off. If they are water transfers they may slide off in the rain
Denis
Some confusion going on here! I'm an retired Signwriter we moved from paint to Computer Vinyl Cut Out lettering, and that's how the original TR6 signs were made. The Vinyl lettering is Self Adhesive (not water transfers!) But some Sign Shops do apply soapy water to the Large Vinyl Signs to be able to slide them around and then squeege out the bubbles with a plastic squeegee (or you can use a Credit Card) But these TR6 decals are so small you don't need to use water you should be able to peel away and fold back a corner of the backing paper and just stick the carrier tape holding the letters onto the car making sure you've got it square, and peel away the remaining backing paper...just like an ordinary Sticker (Decal)...It ain't Rocket Science! Denis
Some people use masking tape to hold one edge of the complete sticker in the desired position, then flap it away using the tape as a hinge to peel back the backing, then smooth the front carrier tape which holds the lettering onto the car, then use the edge of a plastic thingy (or Credit Card) over the lettering, then slowly peel away the front carrier paper, job done. rvwp
Yep, the Moss decals are definetely stick on. As said by Dennis, pretty easy once that was established. Thanks Rich
