Emissions based parking

Recommended Posts

Just been reading that the parking app firm Ring-go have emissions based parking in several places. They are saying that this could replace ULEZ as a way of pricing older high emissions cars off the road. Currently historic classic cars over 40 years old are exempt from ULEZ but it seems that they are not exempt from emissions based parking charges where they will be charged maximum rate. In theory then we could drive through a ULEZ zone in a classic car toll free but would end up paying more if we park in a Ring-go emissions based car park.

Getting more and more complicated to drive anywhere it seems.

Comments please

Hello Roger

Is there a case for the classic car movement to get exemptions for emissions based parking charges in the same way that they have secured exemptions for ULEZ charges. Ring-go seem to have found a way round the exemptions by penalising any vehicle manufactured before 2001 or thereabouts.

Of course Ring-go will lose money and will object. Seems like councils e.g. Croydon. are proceeding despite many objections with the emission based parking scheme.

No wonder this country is the laughing stock of the world coming up with c--p like this.

I'd park the ones who came up with this one in a 6ft box.

The lunatics have taken over the asylum!
