pjc615ukuk
Hi Guys & Gals. Sorry to show my complete lack of knowledge once again. Took car out for a run today, started up ok, ran for about 5 miles perfectly. Then feels like it's not firing on all cylinders under load? Revs freely in neutral. Does this point to an injector issue?
Mike C
Have you done anything to the car recently? Easiest thing to check is the fuel tank is freely venting, if that's OK I'd have a look at the plugs and coil.
Gordon Bayley
I was going to say that try with the filler cap open
Mk2 Chopper
Certainly can be an injector issue, can often be resolved by bleeding the one that isn't working. To check isolate each injector line at a time and feel each one for pulsing, if one doesn't pulse, then it's not operating. Take the injector out and gently tap the casing while holding it up with the engine running and usually you can bleed it until it produces a cone shape spray. Of course it could be ignition, if you have points check their condition and the gap. And check the plugs too. Gareth
Z320
Hi, on my SU HS6 fired TR4A a blocked petrol filter was the reason: enough fuel to rev up the engine while not driving, not enough fuel to eccelerate or drive with higher speed. The problem started unremarkable and went worse very fast. Ciao, Marco
