TR6 grille centre bar

Recommended Posts

Striped the grille to refurb chrome bits ok surround a bit dodgy but gentle glass blasting will sort it

Anyway cleaning the centre bar where the badge mounts its ally then a black strip inside i thought it was paint but un investigation its a piece of what looks like black ribbon held on by two clips either end

never seen this on any of my other 6s i did is this original or something form the states ???

curious

Mine was black ribbon which dissolved when I tried washing it. Replaced with black vinyl tape no masking required.

Sadly I cannot remember what the original drawing called for.  I do remember the stainless strips for the post 73 grille were a question point when remaking the grille.. to fit or not to fit.

Back to the issue

Thin strip of gaffer tape?

or if you can find it in black florists tape might be the right size.

steady hand and a loaded paint brush then wipe clean with thinners.
