Replacement Wiper Motor Wiring?

Hi all, electrical sages required.

Have a non interent, group member with a lovely 4A.

Bought the designate dreplacement wiper motor from one of the major suppliers.

Problem is the original has four connections, new has six, said replacement supplier couldn't help

so can anyone tell us what colour goes where - PLEASE

Thats a Jaguar MK2 motor then, Ian Cornish maybe able to help as the works cars had these fitted.

It might be the type of 2-speed wiper motor fitted to some Jaguars, which requires a special switch, and which reverses the motor in order to park the blades at bottom right of the screen.

There is no rotatable disc on the top of the cover, and the motor may have a knurled knob on the side adjacent to the drive cable for adjustment of the park position.

Attached is the diagram which I produced in 2007 for the motor and switch which are in 4VC, and I note that 4 of the colours seem to be the same as shown above.

It's the wrong motor and it doesn't even seem to have the standard colour code wires for a DR3 ( there should also be a red wire ). 

Because of the extra wires you can't use it without modifications to the vehicle wiring and switch.  Unless you are prepared to do that it's probably best to send it back and buy the right one from another supplier.

Send it back and ask for the old unit back, if that has been returned to them.

Looks like your friend has been to a 'specialist' ....  in selling what they have on the shelf rather than what is correct.
