Bought the designate dreplacement wiper motor from one of the major suppliers. Problem is the original has four connections, new has six, said replacement supplier couldn't help so can anyone tell us what colour goes where - PLEASE John. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

ianc Posted July 11, 2022 Report Share Posted July 11, 2022 It might be the type of 2-speed wiper motor fitted to some Jaguars, which requires a special switch, and which reverses the motor in order to park the blades at bottom right of the screen. There is no rotatable disc on the top of the cover, and the motor may have a knurled knob on the side adjacent to the drive cable for adjustment of the park position. Attached is the diagram which I produced in 2007 for the motor and switch which are in 4VC, and I note that 4 of the colours seem to be the same as shown above. Good luck! RobH Posted July 11, 2022 Report Share Posted July 11, 2022 It's the wrong motor and it doesn't even seem to have the standard colour code wires for a DR3 ( there should also be a red wire ). Because of the extra wires you can't use it without modifications to the vehicle wiring and switch. Send it back and ask for the old unit back, if that has been returned to them.
