John Morrison
Hi all, putting the top back on a TR4A gearbox, and can,t see any breather hole in the top near the front, is this OK? John.
Chilliman
If there isn't one on that box John it's not a problem because it shares the oil & pressure with the A type overdrive that has a snorkle breather on it......

Hamish
Drill a hole top left arrowed in the above pic. And put in a loose split pin as a “keep hole clear pin”
John Morrison
Thanks Guys, thought whilst I had the cover off, silly not to do just that, so sorted. Reason for the original question was, I was just wandering if thats how 4a's were, or if this cover had come off something else, but no worries hole drilled so onwards and upwards! John.
