Don H.
I'd like to put some vintage Lucas battery caps on the cells of my modern battery. It would look more period on my TR3B. If anyone has a set of the old black caps lemme know... Our batteries these days have cell openings that are 0.75-inch diameter. That probably hasn't changed for decades, eh? PS: I originally started thinking about this several years ago and haven't made much progress yet!

Don H.
Thanks, Peter, but I'm looking for a lot older than the style you've linked. I have in mind the old black hard rubber caps with LUCAS molded into a cross-shaped pattern at the top. John Morrison
Let's have a Forum Search! Many of us are going to Stonleigh Sunday, lets have a collective rummage, can't see they would be alot of money, and we might just help a fellow TR'er across the water. John. That's a reasonable idea, Stuart. Worth a try. Here's a company in the US selling vintage tar top batteries, claiming to have LUCAS imprinted caps. https://www.antiqueautobattery.com/batteries/british/G27L.html There's a seller on eBay offering reproduction caps and a LUCAS plate for the front of the battery. Those products aren't really caps, though -- they're 3D-printed stick-on pieces so the seal would be with double-sided foam tape. And there's a strong 3D printer pattern in the pieces. I'm over in a few weeks for the Goodwood Members Meeting, and we could probably organize transfer.
