little jim
Sorry can't help it!! (Dunno where else to put it.) During last trip to the UK Roger and Bev took me to a beaut old pub right on the bank of the Thames, for a pint. While we were batting the breeze a swan swam up to see what was on offer at the riverside. Couldn't resist saying 'that's weird, look at the colour of that swan!!!' (Ours look like this.) RobH
There are a few black swans here too - imports I think, which have escaped. Alec's inn would be the place for this but I guess you don't have access.
RogerH
Hi LJ, many of our parks have black swans in - they like it here I think. But you can't beat a beautiful white swan gracefully punting its way up the canal with it's wings slightly raised. Roger.
SuzanneH
I think the first Black Swans in the U.K. were presented to Winston Churchill by the Ozzie’s and they were kept at Slimbridge by Peter Scott. I guess a few have found their way to other locations by now having bred.
Lebro
We come across several on the Thames in various places. Bob.
