Banjo bolts for Metering unit cylinders 2 @ 5 replacing rubbers

Recommended Posts

I know for the other cylinders on the metering units the rubbers are available and easy to replace

Is it possible to do the same for the banjo bolts on the metering unit that control cylinders 2 & 5

I have to keep bleeding the injectors on both of these if my TR is not used for a couple of weeks suggesting the non return valve is leaking fuel back into the metering unit on these two cylinders

If they are leaking you will need to replace the banjo bolt itself along with the two seals. Lightly grease them on installation and don’t strangle them up too tight.

Hi...no the injectors are all ok....Nice reconditioned ones recently supplied by Mr Raven along with a superbly reconditioned metering unit...Injectors work fine once 2 & 5 bled

So just looking at the picture of them on the KMI site...Is there more to them than just those two 0 rings shown...which is why you can't recondition them your self?

This was posted by John l in 2008 on this site. hope it helps.

The non return valve, just stops fuel draining back from the injector, so keeping the pipe full all the times. I took the spring out carefully, and rubbed the rubber disc on some very fine wet and dry paper, and it reomoved the ring where it had been seating.
