Gary Flinn
Just spotted this on E-Bay, no idea if it will work properly but an interesting idea? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIUMPH-TR5-6-SALOON-2-5PI-FUEL-INJECTION-WITH-TURBO-/252961039876?hash=item3ae5a72604:g:hocAAOSw9OFZKcPi
john.r.davies
Prof.Peter, with his supercharger experience is best to answer. That engine looks like it was buried in a compost heap. John
Peter Cobbold
Arkay sold a Turbo conversion for TR6s, with a draw-through Weber carb ( I think it was a weber, but not certain) Rumour has a very high mileage one running in USA. Here's a more recent turbo_TR6 using modern injection. http://www.tiggersavage.com/tr6_turbo.htm As for the ebay offering, I'm not sure at all how the Lucas PI metering unit copes with boost, or how it would be tuned. Running lean under boost is a NO-NO-NO-NEVER. But, even if the MU can be tuned to deliver the extra fuel, leaning out from a faulty injector could well hole a piston on the affected cylinder...rather quickly. Looking at the photos I cant see those jubilee clips holding the plenum on under much boost at all. An earlier forum thread: http://www.tr-register.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/56156-tr6-turbo/ Rob Briggs' experience recorded in post 8 is worth reading if anyone is tempted. Gary Flinn
The lee Jansen set up looks very professional, unlike the E-Bay offering which putting it mildly, Needs further development!!
Andy Moltu
I would have thought it would be very difficult to set the Lucas PI to work well with forced induction. Carb or efi would be a better option if you want to get the fueling halfway right.
