qim
I have just received a gauge I bought on Ebay to discover that it is not the correct type for a TR3A. The top of the needle is hidden with an upper cover. I expect this is for a TR4. I intend to return, but would it work in a TR3A? If not is anyone interested in the gauge that needs restoring? RogerH
Hi Qim, that sort of gauge needs the 10V voltage regulator Roger
TomMull
I thought all the 3s had the capillary tube type. Perhaps the later 3Bs were electric?
Lebro
I have just received a gauge I bought on Ebay to discover that it is not the correct type for a TR3A. It would work, but you would need the corresponding temperature sender, an extra wire to connect the two, & as Roger says a voltage stabiliser to feed 10V (approx.) to the gauge. Bob. TomMull
I thought all the 3s had the capillary tube type. Perhaps the later 3Bs were electric? Perhaps I should have asked if there is a "correct" electric gauge. My 1959 TR3 has an electric temp gauge but I assumed that was not correct and had planned to replace it. Lebro
As far as I know all 2's & 3's had capillary type, but I may be wrong ! Bob
Don H.
I thought all the 3s had the capillary tube type. Perhaps the later 3Bs were electric? Nope. The TR3B is the same as 2-3A.
