John Morrison
looking to effect a petrol tight seal on an old mechanical fuel pump outlet with banjo fittings. I've tightened this as much as I dare without success, I've re annealed the copper washers to try once again tomorrow but I'm thinking the merest smear of the correct compound might be of help, any suggestions as to what to try? Alec Pringle
Hi John, Blue Hylomar, let it dry for maybe 15mins until it's well sticky, tighten up all but the last nip, leave another 15 minutes and then the final tweak . . . . Touch wood, that technique has solved the same problem on the Pennant, thus far ! Cheers Alec
Andy Moltu
Hylomar isn't effective when continuously exposed to petrol. Something like Permatex permashield is better for this purpose. Loctite also make fuel resistant sealant
