McMuttley
There is what looks like a very eroded fibre washer inside my fuel cap. Apart from some inner surface rust due to 7 months dormancy, the cap is in vgc, but i cannot see a replacement on any of the obvious websites. is this a replaceable part? or should i just build it up with a thin beed of silicone or hunt down an o-ring ? tvm
AlanG
I got a replacement from Revingtons. Don't think anyone else had them at the time. Alan.
RobH
I used gland-packing similar to this (I had some lying around), not sure about the size though: http://www.stationaryengineparts.com/Gland-Packing-4mm.html You could get a big O ring or rubber strip of the right cross-section and just cut it to length - join the ends with superglue. Lebro
I dug out the remains of the seal, & fitted an "O" ring from my stock of many ! Bob.
stuart
TR Shop have complete replacement units, the fibre washer is also available or you can as stated use an "O" ring. Stuart.
