pfenlon
I am scraping off some very soft underseal which has been in place for 43 years, whats the best solution to wash the residue off the original paint, which is in good condition. I was thinking of Parrafin? any ideas out there?
stuart
Petrol but obviously care needs to be taken. A good hot steam cleaner will do just as good a job. Stuart.

Stag powered
My 250 has about quarter of an inch of waxoil underseal plastered to the underside. I live down country lanes covered with loose grit, the underside gets shot blasted on every journey to the point where my repainted wings had the bottoms stripped back to bare fibreglass within 12,000 miles. I never did get round to refitting my steel wings! I even had to cover the sill end caps and floor to chassis brackets with sheet aluminium to deflect the stones. It doesn't make it a thing of beauty underneath, but it has lasted 23 years without any more than surface rust getting a hold. Neil
