RogerH
Hi folks, the bulb holders in a set of rear light units are rather tatty, it will take a fair bit of effort to refurb' and look seriously difficult to remake. Are these available to buy seperately from the unit as new. Roger
RAHTR4
Hi Roger, I remember that this subject raised its head sometime ago. Repair bulb holders are available, but not with offset pins : http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product/454/category/81 I think that I may have some loose bulb holders, so will check and let you know. TR NIALL
Think they are available but a bit expensive. Try Spitfire ones,Cheaper and have an Earth tag.
RogerH
Hi Richard, I have the ones that I took off but given time the little peened over tags will break off. The originals are hefty devils. I imagine any modern replacement will be on the flimsy side. Your link does show Double (offset) pins. Roger
AlanT
Come on Roger, if I can fix my door handles you can fix these!

RAHTR4
Hi Roger, I have found two "repair" bulb holders, these have to be after market items. They are double contact and for parallel pin bulbs. They do have different wiring connectors, Lucar on one and Bullet on the other. Let me know if they are any good to you. Regards, Richard

TR NIALL
Sorry Roger but I thought it was the TR4/6 aka Spitfire Rear Bulb Holders that you were looking for.
RogerH
Hi Niall, The original lucas holders were/are quite substantial and it would be nice to keep these. If available new that would be excellent but I have a feeling that ain't going to happen. The ones on the market at present are typical of todays offerings but in an emergency may have to do. Must be careful how I bend the tabs back when refitting. Roger
AlanT
Exactly which holders are you looking for Roger?
RogerH
Hi Al, I'll post a pic later but it is the pair in the rear light cluster. The flasher has one connector and inline attachment pins. The stop/tail light has twin contacts and the attachment pins are offset. Roger

RogerH
Hi Niall, it's the bulb holders in the rear light cluster TR4/4A/5. The tabs are the bits that are swagged over to hold the holder in place. Very similar to Richards pictures but slightly different. The original ones have a spring loaded base for the bulb contacts. RAHTR4
Hi Roger, The two bulb holders in the posted photo do both have the spring loaded mica bases and contacts for the bulbs? Regards, Richard

RogerH
Hi Richard, I thought they must have. I'll have to order a couple and see what they are like - I may be running round in circles re-inventing the wheel otherwise. Roger
