ian l
Does it matter what 6ra relay you use for the horn and overdrive? There are lots of different ones to choose from, are they just a different amperage or do they work differently? ian
peejay4A
There are different types in the same can and they have different designations, not all 6RA. The horn relay is different to the o/d relay, it has an internal connection. I think it might be a 22RA.
WWT338J
Does this clarify things? http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product_list/113 Any old make/break relay will do for both horn and overdrive if you are not bothered about originality. 6RA replicas are indistinguishable from the original Lucas relays and rated at a higher current. I've used AES quite a lot and found them to be a helpful and efficient firm. David
stuart
Original 6RA horn and overdrive relays are different, the horn one is a light duty version designed to only be operated occasionally whereas the overdrive version is a heavier duty version designed to work for long periods of time. peejay4A
And the horn version has an internal connection which the others don't. (At least the 4A one does).
