PaulR
Hopefully nice and simple question To remove a broken rear wheel stud ( wire wheels) do I turn it clock or anticlockwise Thx Paul
stuart
That depends if you are talking about TR4 Girling axle or 4A IRS axle. If the former then yes they are normal thread so anti clockwise to unscrew. But the studs are peened over on the back and this bit will need very careful grinding off to allow the stud to unscrew. They are also Loctited in. When replacing they must be again peened over and Loctited. You may wish to go down the route of the later type of studs for replacement though this will require the hub to be drilled out to take them. If it is the later IRS hub then they are just knocked back through as they have a serrated shoulder for location. Stuart.

Mark1965TR4aBRG
One thing that I have now got used to with these Classic TR's is that there is never a daft question and always an unexpected answer!! This phenomena is also true when the simplest of jobs takes significantly longer than anticipated. All part of the fun!!
Tr4Tony
In fact one these it's sensible to tack weld them in place because if anyone uses a wheel gun on your (wheel) nuts the studs have a tendency to stretch and pull out, particularly if the wheel gun load is appeciably more than the usual 20lb/sq ft recommended. Ask me ! from personal experience ! Don't let others gun your nuts.
