aland
The radiator on my TR4 measures 14 inches wide but the radiator cowl fits a radiator that is 17 inches wide. Do I have the wrong radiator or wrong cowl? What should the dimensions of the radiator be?

TR 2100
Sound as if you have the cowl from a 4a. Different rad altogether, shorter and wider. Stuart. Could be, but the TR4 cowl, as original, was a couple of inches wider than the radiator. Maybe it's one of the repro parts that was made exactly as original? BrianC
Could be, but the TR4 cowl, as original, was a couple of inches wider than the radiator. Perhaps to allow some cold air to the carbs? Maybe it's one of the repro parts that was made exactly as original? Touch of irony?
Roly
My late 1964 radiator (filler is on top of radiator) is 13" wide, and the cowl is approx 15" wide internally. Roly
ianc
The same shroud (850435) is used on both TR4 and TR4A - the latter has the wider radiator, to which the shroud fits. See my article in Section B18 of the Technicalities CD for suggestions on methods of improving the cooling arrangements on the TR4, including the blocking of that gap between the shroud and the radiator down each side of the radiator.
