  1. OK great thanks. Out of interest, what function does the little screw on the angle drive have?
  2. Hello My speedometer recently stopped working. I thought that it was a snapped cable because I was able to turn the cable at the speedometer end. However, I have replaced it, and it has not resolved the problem. Maybe I did not install it correctly - was I supposed to do something more than just screwing on the end cap at the angle drive end (I just inserted the cable and tightened the screw cap). I am now wondering if it is a problem with the angle drive... unless it is a problem with the speedometer itself. Any ideas? Steve
  3. Someone got a bargain here: https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/auction/17065035 Very nice example.
  4. I am quite sure this question will have come up before! I currently have old painted 60 spoke wheels with 185/65/15 Firestone tyres. It t time to change... I am looking to upgrade with the 72 spoke chrome wheels (from TR shop). Any thoughts on these, and particularly what the best tyre combination is? I don't do that many miles, but looking for good performance. I don't take it on the track. Thanks Steve
  5. Thanks for the info! I did notice that it was a white coloured fibre glass tunnel. Will it be obvious where to make the cut? Thanks!
  6. Sorry for another post so soon. I need to replace my speedometer cable. I had a look under the car today and it looks impossible to change the gear box end of the cable without taking off the exhaust system. It is VERY difficult with no access to change it easily. Any advice or shortcuts? Steve
  7. Hello I have a TR250 with a TR5 head and twin SU's. Is there any way to find what type of cam it has without taking it apart? Thanks Steve
  8. Hello I have a TR250 with twin SU carbs. The existing choke cable does not function correctly (perhaps it is an original TR250 twin cable that is not compatible with SU's). One of the cables is too short, and the other one has a 90 degree tube bend in it, so currently only one cable operating the choke, and the springs are not strong enough to return the choke to rest. So I have to do it manually! Any idea's which choke cable part number would be correct for this, and is there a special fitting that guides the cable sheath into the brass carb fitting so that there is not so much friction
  9. Just to follow up, thanks for the info. New voltage stabilizer has fixed the issue, but now the speedo cable has given up!! So that is the next job :-)
  10. ok great thanks. TR250. I had assumed they would be the same! Thank you
  11. Does anybody know where this is located? Cannot find it under the bonnet or in the in the footwell, so I guess it is behind the dash (but cannot see it!)
