  1. Thank you everyone, for the lovely messages. The world looks much the same over this hill so I'll crack on regardless! It seems like only last year that I started the TR Register Youth group at the tender age of 23!

Thanks also to all the local groups who sent me birthday cards and gifts - amazingly generous and thoughtful and really humbling.

See you all at the Interclub International Weekend at Malvern if not before!

    Sincere thanks, Wayne

  2. Hi Steve, I never used the tool. 9 times out of then, it comes out jammed into the end of the pinion extension tube. The rest of the time I just worked it out using light taps of a hammer and blunt screwdriver in the T shaped moulding in the end. Usually only light tapping is needed before it starts popping free.

    Hi Bob,

Mailchimp reporting tells me it was successfully delivered to your address at 3.15pm this afternoon. Check your junk folder?

It also shows you successfully received and opened the email regarding TR@ 70 event at Bath and West that was sent out on Wednesday.

  4. The TR Register HAS NOT had a data leak and the office have not sent any messages , so please delete any messages of this nature and ignore.

They did not come from the TR Register or the forum.

Hi Mike, I've identified the issue for you and corrected it. You can now use your membership number to reveal the member rate tickets.

I did a test using your membership number and all seems to work fine.

  6. Hi John,

We are working on a way of just having one user name an password across the forum and website but there are several complications to get around first. Work is in progress, but in the meantime, you will have top log in separately to the website and forum.

You couldn't access some areas because your forum account hadn't yet been approved as a member - I've now done that for you so you have 'access all areas' on the forum now as well as the website's members area.

  7. I'm sad to see this article wasn't offered to TR Action, especially when Mike Jennings is so desperate for technical content, as I agree -  it's fantastic content.

The TR Register is a car club with a magazine by the members for the members.

It's my brief as Editor to deliver that by curating member's content. Yes I write a lot myself, such as features, news and national event reports - and the registrars work flat out to produce reports, GLs submit social scene and there are other regulars -  but the rest must come from the membership - that's the whole point of the magazine.

I'm aware of previous complaints when I have written "too much" - i.e Wayne's World etc etc so am dependant on membership sourced content more than ever. I also don't have access to every TR or workshop facilities, nor personnel to create technical content across every model of TR, every month.

So, if you choose to publish your technical articles on the website rather than send them into TR Action, then it won't be the magazine (unless someone submits it) it will be online instead. Now, you might prefer that, and that's perfectly fine as well - as you know, I'm all for great online content. But that's the only reason it is not in TR Action, because we never got it.

Although I do approach many members for the permissions to reproduce content they have created, I can't realistically search every website and page every day on the off-chance that I might be able to chase someone for permission to reproduce an article. Nor can I simply lift stuff off the web without permissions or the original high-res material. So if you'd like to see it in the magazine, if you have a great project you can share - please, please send it in!

    Our contacts are:

    Wayne Scott (Editor): magazine@tr-register.co.uk

Mike Jennings (Technical Editor) : technical@tr-register.co.uk

Either myself or Mike are able to help with any articles, images and ideas - don't worry about being a good writer, we will sort it with you.

  8. I have lowered springs on mine, about 'as low as you can go' but whilst you can spin the springs by hand with the car jacked up and the wheels in the air, you still need a spring compressor to remove them. So, sounds like something is adrift. Difficult to help without seeing it.

  9. @Grinnal - you may not have noticed that this thread was started over 18 years ago!

Attitudes have changed since then thankfully and you'll find the club as a very active and up to date Grinnall register run by Phil Horsley with a report in every magazine.

  10. As the person who bought the model, made the plinth, screwed it onto that plinth and had the metal plate engraved, then glued it on - it seems somehow sad to see this now for sale at auction. I hope it finds a good home.

I’ve also given you an idea of the craftsmanship (or lack of) involved in its creation!!

I presented it to Graham at the 2019 AGM, held at Sywel Aerodrome and then interviewed him about his life, a precious and rare opportunity to put him on the other side of the interview!

  11. Hi @rcreweread,

Phil doesn't work weekends and then part-time in the week, today he is on - site at Stafford, so please be patient and bear with us. There is plenty of time until the event and you will not miss out on a pitch. You will receive a response soon.

I answered the question about the automated emails, the Autojumble pitch sizing is not in my remit however and is quite a different question. I am meeting with some of the team on site for a recce today on the live arena, I will raise the question of Autojumble pitch sizes there for you.

Doesn't seem to allow for one of us driving a TR and the other driving a modern.

Do I have to purchase one pass for me (in TR4), then re-enter and purchase a pass for Maddy in her High&Dry?

Also, note that ACCOMMODATION has two Cs and two Ms.

    Have emailed Wayne about this.

    Ian Cornish

And I have responded. I will also search the site for the typo.

However, please direct all event and ticket enquiries to the office please : office@tr-register.co.uk or opsmgr@tr-register.co.uk .

  13. Hi @brenda

The event is at Stafford Showground, 19-21 August 2022.

A map can be found on the homepage at www.triumphandmgweekend.com and the venue is clearly stated on the website and other communications around the event.

The email confirmations for orders are automated and for the first few were pulling through an outdated tag from the e-commerce payment handler, somehow between testing and it going live, it reverted.

Now it has been corrected and the order confirmations for the first handful of orders have been re-issued with the correct venue in the welcome text. You'll note the logo header correctly stated Stafford all along.

These minor glitches occasionally occur and we resolve them as fast as we can, apologies for any confusion caused.

I can't answer the query regarding Autojumble pitches , please email: Phil Horsley on opsmgr@tr-register.co.uk with your question.
