dpb
Hello Just investigating various electrics and have found on the back of the fuel gauge the specified green/black and green, but also from the green terminal a black wire that goes over towards the rhs, with a ring connector on the unconnected end. It looks like an original bit of wire, very old in any case. Could it be a feed to the heater switch? it is coming effectively from the right place as shown on my wiring diagram, with the heater as an option. I think I just answered my own question, as a look at the back of the heater rheostat shows it is not connected to anything at all. Your thoughts are very welcome. Lebro
Green is 12V from the ignition switch (via a fuse), so anything which only comes on when ignition is on will have a green wire going to it. The heater is one such item, so I am sure your diagnosis is correct. But why was it disconnected?? Edited March 17 by Lebro
dpb
Hi Bob, i guess because the old heater had rusted through. I have replaced it with a T7 new one, but not wired it in yet. Having said that, almost all wires have been disconnected, or broken. Its a long process sorting it out. Dave

dpb
Hi Christian, I am tempted to write "luxury, when i were doing mine we had no wires, no colours and gruel for breakfast". I hope this is not lost in translation. Regards Dave
