Malbaby
There are gaps between the oil pan and the block/ gearbox plate at the rear of the egine. Has anyone blocked off the gaps to prevent dust, water spray etc. getting into the rear crankshaft [long nose] seal area? Perhaps with compressable foam or similar. jerrytr5
Probably better off having gaps to allow any condensate to drain. Jerry
BlueTR3A-5EKT
Land Rover offer a ‘wading plug’ to be inserted in the breather hole of the bottom of the gearbox clutch bell housing and front engine cam belt housing when there is an intention to drive in deep water. .5 mtr.. The factory recommends removing that plug once the vehicle exits likely deep water to allow the area to drain/breath. Also allows inspection for oil or water leaks from those areas. So, I would say no do not seal it off. Edited February 4 by BlueTR3A-5EKT
