roy53
18 months ago I overhauled the fuel pump with a repair kit which had a rubber gasket for the glass bowl. This has totally failed sending particles into the bowl valves in the carbs. I guess yet another modern fuel eating rubber. Have now purchased cork gasket . Why were they not in the repair kit. BlueTR3A-5EKT
I think you will find cork wil go the same way as the rubber, just not as quickly.

ianc
I had a lot of trouble trying to stop the glass bowl weeping, even with the adjuster wound to its limit. I tried rubber and cork rings (I seem to have a collection!), and finally decided that I needed to increase the pressure on the gasket, so placed a steel washer on the underside of the bowl. This increased the pressure just enough to stop the weeping. Quite fiddly trying to hold the washer in position whlslt I turned the adjuster. Cannot remember now which gasket is in there!
