Biggles
What sort of oil pressure should I expect when fully warmed up. Under load it seemed to be between 70 and 80. I can't remember what it was at before, is that high?

When really hot after a long run it can drop to 20 at idle or less, but soon comes back up to 60 above 2000rpm.
iain
70 cold, 45/50 at tick over when hot. After a continues run of 200 miles or so, around 35/40 on tick over. Edited October 1, 2023 by iain
John McCormack
Over 50 hot above 2000rpm is fine. As low as 15-20 at idle is also fine. It is preferable if it is over 20 at idle and nearer 60-65 above 2000rpm. By hot I mean after a 20 or more km run at freeway speeds on a warm day. This is with a 25-50 grade mineral oil. I use Castrol Edge 25-50. Penrite will be very similar.
Nigel C
I use Valvolene VR1 20/50 as I seem to get better overall oil pressure when hot and it uses less (well I'm convinced anyway) than when I used run of the mill 20/50's
