RobH
But we aren't in the EU any more, so will the UK adopt this new legislation?
stillp
I thought hexavalent chromium had been banned many years ago under ROHS? Pete
RobH
RoHS is specific to electrical/electronics kit Pete - REACH applies though: "Hexavalent Chromium Authorisation In UK REACH (as in EU REACH) the authorisation process aims to ensure that substances of very high concern (SVHCs) are progressively replaced by less dangerous substances or technologies where feasible alternatives exist. (HSE) Currently a number of industries using substances containing hexavalent chromium, including chromium trioxide, have been granted authorisations for continued use until 2024." stillp
Yes, sorry, I meant REACH, but I was involved in the drafting of RoHS so it comes to mind more easily! Pete
