Ignition switch - can it be reconditioned?

Recommended Posts

Morning all,.

I'm thinking the spring has gone in the ignition switch, upon first click the electrics start but was unable to get the second click to start the engine, had the AA come out and the chap got the live lead back in the ignition and this enabled me to get the car back in the garage. Lead is currently loose in the back so not being used and all electrics disabled.

Just wondering if it Is it possible to recondition this. I believe it might be the original and would like to keep this and use the same key as per the photo.

If it can be reconditioned then would welcome any recommendations as who can do this.

Thanks in advance

Hi Mike,

I believe the key barrel is separate from the actual switch. So you should be able to keep your key,

I've replied to your very helpful and informative message Richard.

Your message is worthy of note and in my view should go on this thread.

Best wishes,

Mike
