Dic Doretti Posted April 11, 2023 Report Share Posted April 11, 2023 I would like to know what gearbox is fitted. I fitted this engine to a TR2 using the TR gearbox which soon wore out, I then fitted the engine to a Swallow Doretti but I fitted a manual o/d gearbox from a Daimler V8 saloon without any problems. This is a Jaguar box but with a rare V8 bellhousing. It was a great combination and it took me up to Shetland and down to Le Mans a couple of times until we were separated by divorce proceedings. Yes Hamish, I should have referenced it however, my eldest son is just back from a season in Italy and was hounding me as ever .. I have only seen it on Bonhams Thanks Richard, very valid point (for anyone considering a cheeky bid) ….. same went through my mind and I don’t think it is clear, when the (extensive) photos came on line I was just pleased to see that it was not an automatic gearbox..
