BlueTR3A-5EKT
Interesting Perspex stone shield half way along the bonnet on 610. 610 has peeks on its headlamps. Did they actually do any good? If they did perhaps I should find the scabby pair I have lurking somewhere in the shed……perhaps not as the rechrome and dent removal will exceed any benefit or value they have. ianc
Frederick Reydellet's Tome 5 of his splendid series "Les Triumph en Competition" states for the 1955 Mille Miglia that the rally started in Brescia on 30th April and ran until 1st May: 610 809CMF R. Steed - A. Bruce (GB/TR2) - Abandon, moteur 611 OKV72 L. Brooke - D. Lampe (GB/TR2) - 59th scratch, 10th Sport 2 litres, 13h54'52'' at 114.77 km/h Interesting that Iain states a different navigator (Adams) for 610. On page 209 there's a photo of OKV72 at the start. This was the year in which Stirling Moss, navigated by Denis Jenkinson, set an unbeatable record of 10h7'48'' for the 1000 miles in the Mercedes. Ian Cornish
