2long
While driving my Doretti, I noticed my red ignition warning light flickering weakly on, sometimes just a flicker and sometimes on for a second or two. Not constant flickering, just intermittent. When I turn off the car to restart, and then put the key to the first position, the ignition light turns on strongly just as it should before I push the button to start. Then it goes off when the car starts, but back to the flicker mode. Having a flickering red light as I drive is disconcerting! Any suggestions? ianc
Do you have dynamo or alternator? What does your ammeter indicate whilst the light is flickering? Ian Cornish
Waldi
Hi Dan, think I would start measuring the voltage at the battery poles. Above say 2000 rpm it should be above 13.5 V. Switch on your lights and the voltage should remain above 12.8-13 V at 2000 rpm. Old-style dynamo’s will perform a bit less, especially at lower rpm. Waldi
Lebro
Could be brushes on the point of wearing out - dynamo or alternator. Bob
2long
Using original dynamo. Dan
