scissor jack and windsceen capping

Just be aware that the winscreen capping, as an aftermarket replacement, can be quite flimsy and easily damaged during raising and lowering of the roof.

 

I looked on line and bought a nice second hand, original cap from the USA.

Yes, it needed a little bit of fettling, some scratch removal and a good polish, but, once done and fitted, it looked as though it had always been there.

The 4a one is incorrect for a 6 John.

My original one was quite scratched and a bit beat up from 40 years of putting the hood up. So, I ordered a nice new one. Rather than let the old one go, I powder coated it in black, along with the chrome strips under the doors. I put them on as an experiment.  I haven’t gotten the motivation up to put the nice new ones on. I kinda like the black look now.
